Herzlich Willkommen, sehr geehrter U-Bootinteressierter

Hier möchte ich Ihnen kurz meine kleine Arbeit zum Thema deutsche U-Bootwaffe vorstellen. In vielen Jahren in welchen ich mich mit diesem Thema beschäftigte entstand nach und nach ein ziemlich umfangreiches Archiv an Daten über die deutschen U-Boote des Zweiten Weltkrieges. Das führte irgendwann zur Idee eines umfassenden KRIEGSTAGEBUCHES dieser Waffengattung. Damit dieses aber nicht nur auf meiner Festplatte vor sich hinschläft, habe ich den Entschluß gefaßt, es auch anderen an diesem Thema Interessierten zugänglich zu machen.

Welcome, fellow U-boat researcher

I would like to give a short introduction to my work on the subject of German U-Boats. In the many years during which I've researched this topic I've gradually developed a rather extensive archive of data on U-boats of the Second World War. This led to the idea of a comprehensive WAR DIARY of this branch of service. However so that this work doesn't simply sit on my hard disk, I have made these files available to interested people.

Non-German readers please note that although this publication is written in German it is a reference work and therefore much of the information contained is clear - dates, times, positions, names and numbers are easily understood.

Handy Hint
PDF files are fully searchable. If you have the latest version of Acrobat Reader you can use its search feature, found under the edit menu, to find dates, boat numbers, commander names etc. You'll find this feature invaluable if you want to quickly get to a particular part of these huge files.
